World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO)

KEI has permanent observer status for the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), and has attended every SCCR meeting beginning in 2003, and monitors several other committees. KEI played a key role in the negotiations on the Marrakesh treaty for persons with disabilities, which was first proposed by KEI and the World Blind Union and the Daisy Consortium in 2008 and was adopted at a diplomatic conference in 2013, and played a key role in the negotiations over the WIPO development agenda which was adopted in 2007.
