I wrote an 1800 word comment on the proposed Trump Executive Order on drug prices in medium, here. The bulk of the comment focused on the first of the “principles” and “talking points” reported by Emily Kopp in Kaiser Health News.
Extending the patent life of drugs in foreign markets to “provide for protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights.” This will ensure “that American consumers do not unfairly subsidize research and development for people throughout the globe.”
I plan to write a follow-up blog on some of the other elements of the proposed Executive Order.
